Consequences of not waiting upon the Lord.

"More haste less speed" is the only experience we will have in life as Christians when we don't wait upon Gods time. Let me borrow a leaf from the account of Abraham in the book Genesis 12:2 were God promised Abraham that he will be the father of great nations. The way God promised Abraham on this same day is the same way He has promised all of us who are descendants of Abraham and those promises must come through, if we can only wait upon the Lord. In Genesis 16, Abraham as a man decided to do things in his own way or to fast track to the fulfilment of the promise God made to him, but the consequences was so disastrous that all of us who are descendants of Abraham are still suffering from such decision made by Abraham. In Genesis 16:1-3, the bible recorded that Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham and He had a child through Hagar in verse 15; and this was not what God wanted of Him. Where I want you to focus is Genesis 16:11-12. If Abraham had waited upon the Lord Ismail wouldn't have been born and today there won't have been descendants of Ismail saddled with the responsibility of killing their follow humans like wild donkey and ensuring that the world don't have peace. But in everything whatever God said must come to pass so long as you kept your covenant with Him. The true child of promise came when Abraham was 100years that is after 25 years of the promise and is the child of promise, the child peace, the child of blessings, the child whose generation will maintain the covenant of God with Abraham forever and ever, the child circumcised on the eight day. I want you to think deeply about the decisions you make in life if it is in accordance with the will of God. You may want to get to your destinations as fast as you want, but the consequences may be everlasting. Abraham's promise was fulfilled after 25years that is how many of us sees it. But one thing we must know is that 1000 years is like a day in the eyes of God, therefore, His ways will never be the way of man since He must do things in His time. Hosea 12:6 encourages us to wait for God indefinitely. Those who waits upon the Lord are not those who are lazy, praise-singers, fornicators, adulterers, robbers in the name of preaching the gospel of Jesus (Yeshua), hypocrites and sycophants. Those who waits upon the Lord are not those who pays tithe from the proceeds of evil acts, stealing public funds, selling expired products, cheating others, sorting their courses or their ways to what they want, doing all sorts of things for money, running from one church or ministry to another for miracle or healing or protection. But those who waits upon the Lord are those who do their work with diligence, prudence, kindness, truthfulness, and acknowledging God in all their ways by doing right things right. Those who waits upon the Lord accepts all that comes to them with faith and ready to go were God may lead them to, people will mock them and challenges from families will persuade them to go astray but when they overcomes the victory will theirs. Psalms 27:14, 37:7, Isaiah 40:31, Jeremiah 14:22, James 5:7-8,Psalms 130:5, Micah 7:7,Galatians 5:5; have more to say about waiting upon God. We can only be truly successful in life by waiting upon the Lord for the fulfilment of His promises to us. I warn those who go to prayer houses, ministries, churches, deliverance centres, men and women of gods, to be very careful because anything other than what God has promised or destined of us will be very disastrous, we must learn from Abraham, Hagar and Ismail. Oh God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who I am directly descendended from; via the blood of the eight day circumcision, I pray that you shall have mercy upon your children, give us the grace to wait upon you so that we may not part of the emergence of another Ismail(killing, violence, disobedience to God) but be part of the emergence of another blessed child Isaac (progress, love, kindness and holiness); so that your name alone may be praised and that you may be worshipped forever and that those who do not worship You may do so having seen the fulfilment of your promise to your children who patiently wait upon you; this I ask You Oh My God as your child and with those who worships You with all their hearts but not for what You will do for them; hear me oh God and remember your covanant with our ancestor, Abraham... MENTAL SLAVERY NOT THE WILL OF GOD FOR MAN

Mental Slavery can be interpreted to be spiritual #slavery which is made manifest in the physical (behaviour, reasoning and actions). #Mental slavery is when someone is assumed to be free but decided to be slave because of what he/she learnt, accepted and believed; without proper reasoning and or questioning about the knowledge he/she got before accepting and believing.

#God created every man free and equal, but the world will never allow it to be so. This world (people who are evil) want riches, people to be their subjects (because of supremacy mentality), and people to worship them (because they made themselves gods over others), and since this world is evil and ruled by Satan (men who hates God) there must be slaves to satisfy their wish. Since the era of physically enslaving men is gone, the only way to enslave people is mentally via subjecting them to suffering, wrong teaching to justify the slavery, and religion to make those mentally enslaved totally dependent on their master (those who made themselves gods). The only way out is to free yourself. This freedom come from the undiluted word of God, which will make you have a sense of reasoning; so that you don’t accept everything without subjecting it to proper reasoning.

People who are mentally enslaved are those who are brainwashed by their follow men, as a result of their inability to be patient, to endure, to be faithful, to accept the truth, to rely on God, to be brave, to work, to fight those who are using what God has taken their inheritance and to shun or jettison evil in all ramification. The 95% of such enslaved people are African people mainly in #Nigeria.

The two major source of learning for man are: Religion (Churches/Mosque) mainly and schools (all sorts of tutoring). My attention is on religion and Christians to be precise; because majority of Christians in Nigeria are mentally enslaved in the name of worshipping God, whence, nothing works in this part of the world. An example of men of this world (men of god, ministers, evangelist, etc.) who are enslaving people using the Christian religion are those:

§  Who will kept imposing fasting and praying on their followers as a means for seeking Gods face, or getting God’s blessings but they kept growing fat.

§  Who will tell you that the Heavenly kingdom is for those who are poor in heart, but they are living in affluence in heart; so that you (poor in heart) will continue to serve them.

§  Who will continue to ask you to pray until something happen, but they kept getting richer through you while you kept praying hoping on the miracle you will get through them.

§  Those who continues to tell pray for Gods protection but they move with body-guides and wears bulletproof.

§  Who will continue to tell you to pray your way out, even when they know that prayers does not generate electricity, construct roads, build hospitals, create job opportunities, and so on.

§  Who will tell all sorts of lies to support corrupt leaders who makes lives miserable for the poor because they get the crumbs that falls from their tables.

These men and women are the type #Yeshua (Jesus) warned us about in Mathew 23:1-12.

Furthermore, mental slavery is when someone kept asking you to keep praying for Job, while those who should create the jobs goes to him, gives him money and he blesses them. Mental slavery is when someone studied with strike action almost through the academic sessions, graduated without knowledge, got a job unfortunately was fired because he has nothing to offer; he goes to church to complain and the men of gods told him his problem was from his people or that the enemy is after him, he prayed for him to get another job fast and collects the little money he has live on. Even when he knows that those seeking to be employed are uncountable, finally he gave him take-home praying and fasting to enable him over the powers of the enemy; then collected the little he has as sowing seed for a job or open doors. Mental slavery is when a #Christian left what God ask him to do, to do the one his men of gods requested of him. Mental slavery is when someone allowed his fellow man to kill him having seen that the same person killed his neighbours and say I serve a God of vengeance, even when he has the opportunity to defend himself. Mental slavery is when someone is mentally and spiritually disarmed to the extent that he is happy suffering and smiling, going to #church every day, in the name of giving God his time or seeking for God’s blessings; but he forgets that he must work before he can be blessed through his handwork.

It is not the will of #God that man should suffer, but the will of this world (evil men and woman). We can’t survive without working out our survival, God has given us everything to live a free life, and to worship Him freely, just as we are and with everything we are; but not just for what will get from Him. God will not come to our aid in any problem, until when we have exhausted all our efforts as humans towards solving that problem, this is so so that His name will be glorified Psalm 50:15. God didn’t create us to be anyone’s slave mentally and or physically, that is why Jesus came to free us from this world, so don’t be deceived anymore, look unto God for He alone can help you and runaway from men of gods who are bent on mentally enslaving you from using the gift God gave you and been blessed from your handiwork.

Luke 6:31, Matthew 20:26, Ecclesiastes 10:17, 2 Timothy 3:1-6, Philippians 2:3; Men of god who are not as written in these verses are mentally enslaving you and others you may know, with their teachings and that is why this society is not progressing; but Rome (Catholic), England (Anglican) and USA (Pentecostal) that brought the churches to us are prospering. Nowadays Christians should ask questions, Nigerian Christians should ask questions, and African Christians should ask questions, of which one is why is it that Nigeria has the highest number of churches in the world but 95% Christians does not do the will of God whence, the increase in crime and corruption.

Oh God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in 1 Corinthians 3:18-21, your word says that the wisdom of this world is Your foolishness, let your children who are mentally enslaved and impoverish, wake up from their slumber, use their head and embrace You through Jesus - for those who are not directly descended from You. What Do People Say About Your God?

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego… Daniel 3:1-30 is a story about a King (President) who decided to serve the God of his slaves.

Daniel and his kinsmen were sentenced to die for a sin committed by others or rather their inefficiency, but God out his mercy gave Daniel the wisdom to turn things around. Daniel and his kinsmen Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego were faithful children who were as made slaves. They refused to be corrupted with the king’s food and win. They refused to worship the god of their master, they rather die than compromise their faith. But God proved to be God as he promised to do in the times of trouble (Psalms 50:15) and preserved their lives from the lake of fire, all to His glory.

How many Christians will be willing to say no to the bad policies of their employers? How many Christians will be willing to reject money of the corrupt government officials and stand for the truth? How Christians will be willing to let go their position rather than sing the praises of those who are bent on impoverishing the society because of the crumps that falls from their tables? How many Christians, especially church leaders will tell their pastors/men of god/priests/GOS that they have derailed from doing what God wants to pursuing money and material things of this world? How many people will recommend you as a Christian when trust, honesty, transparency, and dedication is required? But because the people have forsaken their God, that is why the more churches we have the more evil is perpetrated in the society and the more families are divided and the more enmity increases among kinsmen and the more mentally slaved people become and the more poverty increases.

Until those who claims to be Christians put God first (just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego ) in all their dealings; the glory of God will not return to them. We have all been worshiping the modern day idol (statue of all sorts) of either the corrupt government of Nigeria, or those who said they are men of god and followers of Jesus Christ without the mind of Jesus whom they claim to be God or the mind of Almighty God maker of heaven and earth who will never wish to share His glory. Christians without faith

Show me #prophets who are extremely rich and I will show you people who are Christians without patient and faith in God. Jeremiah 29:8-14.

God warned us about these men of gods, false prophets, false #televangelist, false evangelist, miracle workers, curse breakers, and so on; Jeremiah 29:8-9. So long as people who claim to be #Christians will continue to look for #miracles, quick answer to their #challenges, material things of these world as criteria for working God, property, and so on without waiting for God; they will continue to suffer and keep facing one problem or another even when they claim that their lives are getting better.

Anyone who refuse to heed the warning of Almighty God and have refused to learn even from the death of others who threaded that path, then they shall continue to reap misfortune for bringing shame to the name of God and by promoting fallacy about God Almighty. Nationhood, is Nigeria the will of God?

The word Nation was first mentioned in Genesis 10:5. The word Nation or Nations is the English translation of a Hebrew word “goyim”; a word believed to be derived from gowy which means “body” of person and by extension the corporate body of a people.

I am not a history student, but have researched about what nation is all about and how Nigeria became a nation; so as a preacher of the gospel it pleases me to bring my people to the light of what nationhood actually entails. I will try to make this message short, because I noticed that my people are no longer interested in reading messages when the content is lengthy; though bad but we can get along with it for now. From the scripture and the Hebrew word from whence came the word Nation, we can understand that a Nation is a body, a family, and a people and their lands. Therefore, when we talk about a people, a family and or a body, we are talking about people with similar culture, similar religion, similar understanding and belief. If you agree with me, then we are on the right track and on the same moving train.

We were told that Nigeria was created by Lord Lugard Fredrick and was name after river Niger which was suggested by Flora Shore who was believed to be her girlfriend or mistress. Though, I have found more about the creation of Nigeria which its root is evil because Kings were slaughtered and beheaded, this they never told us, but the truth about it is that Nigeria emerged from a Britain company called Royal Niger Company which Lugard was one of the people in charge of its affairs. If we believe that a nation is created by God via the people and their lands, families and or corporate body; then is it right for a man to create Nigeria which indirectly means Lugard is the god of Nigeria, is the question all of us should ask ourselves. When we talk about the will of God for a nation, we should understand that those who will be keen to do Gods will is only the nations He created, so Nigeria been the creation of Lugard is not blessed by God, Psalms 33:12 and can never do will of God. Nigeria is a nation that is synonymous to lies, corruption, killing, stealing, backwardness, sycophancy, and hypocrisy and so on. Nigeria is the only nation were people prays from morning to night and nothing appears to be happening because things are getting worst day-by-day; and the reason may be that the prayers are made by liars, hypocrites, fornicators, adulterers and corrupt people. Nigeria is the only nation that those who speaks the truth does not progress but liars, looters, corrupt government officials and the likes are praised and given awards. Nigeria is the only nation that produces Engineers, Doctors, Scientist, Technologies, but their government officials goes to abroad for cars, medical attention, genuine drugs, almost every good quality consumables and refining of her local produce. Nigeria is the only nation were few people are recognized, few people are above the law, few people are entitled to security, some people with religious affiliation are not recognized, some group of people are killed, enslaved, forced to accept a particular religion or be beheaded and the government of Nigeria and world powers says nothing. If this Nigeria is the type of nation that those who called themselves the children of God are yarning for then something is wrong somewhere and they need to have a rethink before the evil Nigeria consumes them.

In Psalms 33:12, Isaiah 60:12 and Proverbs 14:34, we will find some injunctions that contain what nations created by God should do. Knowing fully well that Nigeria as nation after 100 years cannot achieve this will of God, then we should return to how God made us before 1809 when Royal Niger Company and Lugard came and put asunder to the people (nations) God created. Therefore it is only when the evil Nigeria nation collapses and new nations original created by God emerges that Genesis 12:2 will fulfilled and the people of God will prosper and serve God without fear and groaning. iPhone 6 around the corner and will be powerful

Apple is gearing up for a big product announcement on September 9, and all indications are that it will be a new iPhone. The iPhone 6, as it’s being called in the press, will deliver a lot of changes over the iPhone 5s, which got relatively modest updates compared to the iPhone 5. It’s also one of the most important device launches Apple has ever had, given how long it’s been since the company unveiled a new marquee product.

As is generally the case, at this point we have a pretty good idea of what’s coming thanks to the rumor mill, which has been in high gear over the past month or so. Whispers suggest we’ll see a larger screen, with a 4.7-inch model launching first and a 5.5-inch model also being unveiled at the same time, but possibly shipping a bit later or in constrained supply.

The large screen and its value to Apple shouldn’t be underestimated. Samsung delivered a commercial recently that attempted to lambaste Apple for having waited so long to deliver a larger display, but in fact it pointed out only that there is now a strong appetite for a larger face on Apple’s smartphone, not that people were eager to jump ship to another device manufacturer in order to get that feature.

But the screen size isn’t the whole story – Apple is also expected to use a new material that offers a lot more durability to protect its display. This will likely be some kind of sapphire composite, and based on leaked videos of durability tests, it should be much better able to withstand both shattering and scratching. This would give Apple a considerable advantage over the rest of the market, which finally mostly uses Gorilla Glass, the material it pioneered with its original iPhone but which it now looks ready to leap beyond.

Apple’s work on both these things, display size and display durability, speak to some of the most sought-after requests of both existing and would-be iPhone buyers. The company will also likely improve the cameras on its devices, and might finally add NFC into the mix, opening the door for a lot more potential when it comes to mobile payments.

Cupertino will deliver all the things that normally encourage their loyal customers and many new ones to jump on board, including improved processor power and performance, but if they can also deliver on some of the fever dreams of iPhone watchers, we’ll see a launch that exceeds any that came before it. The iPhone is currently exhibiting a late-cycle strength that it rarely has before, and anyone who thinks that “just” putting a bigger screen on its flagship device won’t do much to improve its fortunes hasn’t been paying attention – plus, Apple being Apple, they’ll do a lot more besides.

Freedom comes by knowing the truth

How can you be free when you don’t know the truth? My heart bleeds because nowadays #preachers (Priest, Pastors, Men of gods, Evangelist, Ministers etc.) are only interested in raising millionaires and structures instead of raising Disciples or Apostles or Christians as the case may be. To be able to achieve their desires, these preachers don’t teach the #truth anymore and this is the only reason why people only worship God now because of prosperity, riches, success, protection from imaginary enemies, and not for the kingdom of #God.

John 8:31-32 tells us that only those who abide by the word of God are His disciples and only those who are disciples will know the truth and that only those who knows the truth will they be free. The word of God is summarised in what Jesus Christ said in Mathew 22:36-40; I encourage to read the verses which contains the most important instruction (love of God and fellow man) for anyone who is desirous to be free or make heaven.

If you or knows anyone who has seen God, please the person shouldn’t hesitate to inform me. When you are asked to love God, you are indirectly asked to do whatever God asked you to do to your fellow man. When you are asked to love man you are asked to do to that man as you would love to do to yourself or as God is doing for you.

The only truth that will set you free and make you true disciple of God is contained in Mathew 25:31-46, because on the last day you will give the account of life base on what the verses contains. Therefore, I encourage you to abide in the word of God which says love God and your neighbour and that is the only thing you are required to do. Stop taking money to churches or ministries in name of loving God, when your neighbour is dying; by so doing you are not doing the will of God. Stop going to that person who 

FAITH IS THE KEY TO TRUE SUCCESS!

… without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who come to Him must believe that He is and that He a rewarder of those who seek Him; Hebrew 11:6.

A faithful servant of God is one who accepts and handover every circumstance that comes to him/her willing, having tried to overcome it but to no avail. A faithful servant of God understands that there are days of trouble, Psalm 50:15; so when that day comes he looks upon God for help and not man, men of god, churches, ministries, miracle workers, etc. A faithful servant of God understands that the successful person in life is one who seeks only the kingdom of God in all endeavour and not the person who is wealthy or the person whose bank account is so fat; because in a bid to be wealthy or rich the person losses sight of what God wants or created him to do or achieve before his death; Mathew 6:33. A faithful servant of God is someone who do not compromise despite his condition; who do not cheat others; who is hard-working and always believing God for blessings from his handwork and not someone who kept faffing around hoping to reap where he didn’t sow; who do not depend on others or delve into sycophancy, hypocrisy, praise-singing, shameless or dishonest acts just to get money, and all sorts of evil acts just to make a living; a faithful servant of God is one who lives without fear of the unknown or what tomorrow have in stock for him. A faithful servant of God is one who trust Him and asks Him on daily basis to direct him in all his endeavours, Proverbs 3:5-6.

We should always ask ourselves if we are faithful to God as His children, we have all gone astray in one way or the other, trying to find solutions to our challenges where none exist and the result has always been living a faithless life. Suffering is part of life, not the suffering afflicted to us because of our cowardice or inability to speak the truth so that we are not denied daily bread or stand against those making us to suffer, but the suffering that is beyond human understand, 1 Peter 12-19. Therefore, I encourage you to be faithful no matter what comes your way, and believe in the saving power of God Almighty and not that of church, men of god, ministries, miracle centres, prayer houses, politicians, voodoo powers and so on; remember Mathew 6:25-34 which assures us that God is capable of providing all that we need to live or survive if we can only trust in Him, live a holy live to enable Him find us worthy to fulfil His promises to us and remain faithful to Him at all times which is the only key to complete and total success. Unlocking of smartphones, Legal! This sounds weird!

Unlocking your smart phone to run on a different carrier, without your carrier’s permission. It seems completely innocuous, right? Something you’d do with a spare bit of time on your weekend just to see if you could.

Surprise! It’s illegal. And we’re not talking jay-walking-when-no-one-is-looking illegal, either —thanks to some crazy ass interpretations of the DMCA, it’s a quote-unquote crime punishable by up to 5 years in jail.

Thankfully, that’s changing. The legality of unlocking has flip-flopped many a time over the past 15 years, but it’s likely about to go back to being legal.

A few weeks ago, the Senate passed the “Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition” act that moved to make unlocking legal again. This morning, Congress unanimously approved it.

Now the only thing left is for the President to put his stamp of approval on it — and given that the administration has publicly supported the act, that’ll hopefully happen pretty quickly.

• In 1998, Congress passed the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. Section 1201 states that “No person shall circumvent a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work protected under this title”, meant to make it illegal to circumvent anti-piracy mechanisms. In other words, they didn’t want you hacking up a VCR to be able to copy your VHS copy of Titanic.
• Cell phone manufacturers, carriers, and carrier lobbyist groups took this to include their wares, as well — and for the next few years, used it to send out DMCA notices to shut down sites and services that helped people unlock their phones.
• In 2006, the U.S Copyright office said “wait, wait, wait — that’s not how it’s supposed to work” and granted an exemption that made unlocking officially okay. Alas, these exemptions are re-reviewed every three years, and…
• At the end of 2012, the exemption was allowed to expire, and unlocking was illegal again

Once this bill is signed, it’ll once again go back to being legal… for now. Congress is scheduled to re-evaluate the bill every 3 years, so it could flip right back to illegal before too long.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro To join the Tablet Market

Microsoft has a new Surface tablet/PC hybrid, and it’s a departure from their first- and second-generation versions of the Surface line, with an all-new design and a bigger, better display. The device is basically the perfect partner for Windows 8 and the Modern Windows UI, but your appreciation of this device (or lack thereof) will depend heavily on what you want to do with your computer. We looked at it back when it launched, but how does it stand up to extended use?

Design

Microsoft has consistently done at least one thing right with the Surface line of devices, regardless of whatever else people think about the machines – they deliver great examples of modern industrial design, from the magnesium alloy used in the case construction to the engineering feats required to fit a full computer’s internals inside the slim devices. The Surface Pro 3 continues this tradition of great design, with a new lighter look that works well, a slimmer case, and a bigger, more usable 3:2 ratio display that captures a user’s full attention when it’s active.

The new kickstand on the Surface Pro 3 is also a big improvement, and even though I admittedly poked fun at a built-in kickstand on the original Surface, it has indeed proven useful in every generation of the machine. This time, the full range of motion is available instead of just a few select lock positions, and that’s a big advantage for using this thing around the house, and for digital art, which is one of my primary use cases in a Surface.

There are still some quirks in the design – despite losing weight, it’s still heavy if your expectations are set based on coming from an iPad, and the screen size, despite offering a better movie watching and graphics work experience, means that using it handheld is a little bit more awkward than before. Overall, though, it’s definitely an improvement on previous generations when it comes to design.

 

Features

Microsoft has learned from its past releases and created features for the Surface Pro 3 that greatly benefit the overall experience. The kickstand mentioned above offers a big advantage in terms of how usable the Surface Pro 3 is in various situations, including while used on your lap. The new click shortcuts for the pen are also great, including using a long press to automatically open OneNote and begin a new blank document, even when the computer is asleep with the screen turned off.

They may not be new, but some existing features of Windows 8 also come in handy, and shine especially bright on the Surface Pro 3. Chief among these is the ability to run apps side-by-side in a windowed mode that splits the screen among them. This makes multitasking while keeping an eye on Twitter easy, and the additional screen real estate afforded by the new Surface Pro 3 display makes using the feature feel a lot less cramped.

Based on my usage of the device, it’s hard to understate the value of the new OneNote auto-launch functionality using the pen. The Surface Pro is basically the perfect digital handwritten notetaking tablet, and this really ups its value in that regard. But the pen also loses some tricks in the switch from Wacom to N-Trig as a provider, including automatic flip-to-erase functionality in drawing programs, and that’s less than ideal.

Performance

The big value proposition behind the Surface Pro 3 has always been its ability to run full-powered Windows applications despite having a portable, tablet-style form factor. The Surface Pro 3 isn’t a huge advancement in terms of performance over the Surface Pro 2 in this regard, but it does push the needle a bit. During some activities, however, including unlocking the device and rotating the screen, I actually felt that the Surface Pro 3 was a bit more prone to lag and delays than the Surface Pro 2.

Once active, apps and games performed well, and despite having read elsewhere that drawing responsiveness was less than stellar compared to the Surface Pro 2, I found in my use that it was still more than acceptable when working with the new, Surface Pro 3 high-density display optimized version of Photoshop CC, and with Autodesk’s Sketchbook Pro. The new digitizer doesn’t have anywhere near the levels of sensitivity of the one provided by Wacom on the Surface Pro 2, but for light digital painting, photo editing and cartooning (my uses), it works well enough that many probably won’t notice a difference.

The display on the Surface Pro 3 is one of its standout features – the high density resolution makes it great for watching movies or Netflix, and for using the Windows Modern UI. The classic desktop will be harder to navigate for those with old eyes or vision problems, because it renders individual elements so small, and that’s true of apps not built for HiDPI screens, too.

Overall, though, Microsoft has really outdone themselves with this screen, and that’s just another part of what makes this machine so useful for those working in digital artistic fields.

Battery

Battery life on the Surface Pro 3 is rated at 9 hours of web browsing usage, and it definitely feels more long-lasting than the one found in the Surface Pro 2. If you’re coming from a notebook you’ll be pleasantly surprised, but for video streaming and intense graphic application usage, you’ll likely find it doesn’t reach near that nine-hour mark. Again, this is a situation where your origin point will determine your reaction: coming from a tablet could make battery feel inadequate, but transitioning from the PC world, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Bottom Line

Microsoft is touting the Surface Pro 3 as a device that eliminates the consumer question of “tablet, laptop or both?” and to some extent, it can do that. But answering that question with the Surface Pro 3 means making other concessions, too – despite the marketing push, it’s not a perfect ‘have your cake and eat it, too’ scenario. Windows 8 is not everyone’s cup of tea, for instance, despite improvements made with Windows 8.1. And the software library for Modern Windows is still such that you may not be able to find everything you’re looking for.

The fact is that despite its merits, the Surface Pro 3 is still a niche device – but for a couple of very different niches. It could work great for someone looking for a single computer solution that’s closer to an iPad but with a larger display and a little more range in terms of approximating a desktop; and it could be great for a digital artist looking for something to use away from their home setup. It’s a solid machine and an example of well-executed hardware engineering, but at $799 plus the cost of a $130 Type Cover, it might still have a few too many quirks and peculiarities for the average user. For those who fit the profile, however, there’s nothing else quite like it.

Facebook Is Now Worth $190 Billion

Facebook is worth more than Amazon. Following yesterday’s earnings report, Facebook shares hit an all-time high in after-hours trading at $75. Price has been very stable this morning as well, confirming yesterday’s pop. Shares opened at $75.96 a share, then set a new record at $76.74. Now, shares are trading at $75.13.

In other words, Facebook’s market capitalization is now around $190 billion, which is above Amazon’s market capitalization of $165 billion.

With $2.91 billion in revenue and earnings of $0.42 per share, the company beat the analysts’ expectations. When you see Facebook’s earnings chart, it seems like there is no end in sight. Facebook is a great example of a tech company that has performed very well since going public.

It could have bigger consequences on the stock market. Investors could become bullish on other tech stocks due to Facebook’s good performance.

Facebook is a much different company than it was when it went public in May 2012. At the time, most of its users were browsing the social network on their laptops, and the company’s ad offering wasn’t as effective as it could be. Now, most users go to Facebook on their phones, and the mobile ads are performing very well.

But if you look back even further, nobody would have thought five years ago that Facebook would be worth more than Amazon, around half of Google and Microsoft. One last number, Facebook is now worth more than eight times Twitter.

TECH NEWS: For Blackberry the born shall rise again, The last from BB.

The Passport, Its Square Tablet and Phone

BlackBerry previously gave us a sneak peek at a device that’s as category-busting as the revolutionary Padfone, called the Passport. I expressed my …uncertainty regarding the wisdom of the design decisions made in creating this 4.5-inch square thing with a hardware keyboard then. But now it’s BlackBerry’s turn to articulate some of its reasoningbehind the Passport, with a blog post in which it avoids calling it either a phone or a tablet directly.

The blog post asks “Why?” in italics on a line all its own, so BlackBerry at least is aware this is a weird device that has some people, like myself, scratching their heads. The 4.5-inch screen on the gadget is square, not rectangular, meaning it’s almost as wide as two iPhones placed side-by-side.

The answer to “Why?” begins with something about academic typology, which isn’t a great way to explain a design decision for a mobile device in my opinion. But wait! The academic stuff means that the Passport is supposedly the optimal size for reading e-books, paging through documents and reading the text-heavy portions of the web. WHICH IS WHAT BUSINESS PEOPLE DO!

BlackBerry blogger Matt Young goes on to articulate a few different scenarios where the Passport’s unique ID will make it an ideal digital companion, including for architects and real estate professionals switching between blueprints and contract docs; doctors checking X-rays and patient info forms; financiers watching the stock market bob up and down; and writers looking for the joys only a real physical keyboard can bring.

I remain skeptical, but BlackBerry is at least taking a different approach to the smartphone/tablet/whatever-mobile-computer, the design of all which has been largely normalized over the past few years. Basically, though, at this point the only question that remains is whether this is a better or worse idea than the noveltylicious curved screen smartphone.
